On a single night in 2017, an estimated 184,661 people in families, including children, experienced homelessness. Families in Emergency shelters has more than doubled, from 756 in 2010 to 1,570 in 2014 in Columbus . While Emergency Shelters provide the immediate support these families need, they face insurmountable stress while living in transitional housing, affecting family bonds and relationships.
